Figments / 幻覺 is a project dedicated to visualizing the unclear and the unsure, with a purpose to capture those fleeting scenes that reside as figments of our minds where images conjure as hazy. Taken exclusively with 35mm film, at night, and in Manhattan's Chinatown, Lan's Figments / 幻覺 acts as an experiment of self reflection and questioning on what it means to identify with a community yet remain distant. This purgatory of the in-between is imagined through these images.

Using RISO's unique visual appeal and grain, Figments / 幻覺's dedication to those fleeting scenes materializes in fifteen, unique 4-color RISO prints.
